If you hurry you can run this section in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so why not pack your camp stove too. There are so many stretches to paddle in this river system, the Horseshoe Reservoir to Bartlett Reservoir stretch is just one of many. There's camping available near Verde River. The wonderful Arizona scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Verde River beats anything. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either   way this area has a pretty small number of paddling places. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. This stretch of Verde River in Yavapai / Maricopa County is 19 miles long and it is classified as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Briefly about the general area: There's fine hiking along the Club Ranch Trail; Tonto National Forest is worth going to.
