  The natural beauty of Arizona and the cool fresh water will make you feel great. The put-in is not too far from Prescott, as you can see on the road map further down. The Perkinsville to Clarkdale section is one of many paddling sections in this river system. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number
    of paddling spots. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. No shortage of good hotels, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. If you've been out of state whitewater
rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy.

Briefly about the general area:
A trip to Verde River wouldn’t be complete without a trip to nearby Dead Horse Ranch State Park; Verde River is a spot with many visitors from Clarkdale. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Woodchute Trail; Verde River lays in the shadow of the Antelope Hills.
 
This is a really good river. Bakers Pass is a great site to spend some time at, and the Packard Trail Nmber Sixty Six offers hiking at its best. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Verde River with overnight lows in the 50's. Highs during the wintertime are frequently in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Verde River. Verde River is a location that is rather dehydrated frequently. Of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and the driest month of the year is June.
