  The beautiful scenery of Arkansas and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This section of Brushy Creek in Arkansas is 6.2 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II+(III) section of whitewater. The river winds through the Ouachita Mountains and you get great scenery. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Arkansas are often more forgiving than in other states, so better
    not forget that many runs in this state are very easy. This stretch has has enough mileage, good for a one day paddling trip. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these
hotels fill up quick. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling spots. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. If you're coming from Fort

Briefly about the general area:
Cossatot River State Park is a good place to stretch your legs a bit, and during your journey here you'll meet some people from Vandervoort for sure. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors entertaining stuff the Ouachita Mountains has to offer. Brushy Creek gets a great deal of water. The month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and January on the other hand is the driest. During the summer months at Brushy Creek temperatures are mostly in the 80's.
