you come because it is a very popular destination. This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons
| to come. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so keep in mind that rivers in this state are less demanding. Boston Mountains is great. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots.
Briefly about the general area: If you
want to pop by some attention-grabbing stuff, pop by Crystal Point. Bull Shoals State Park is a tremendous location, and the fine people of Harriet like to hang out nearby. This is a really good river. Buffalo River gets
a large amount of water. May is when you get the most rain here while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. High temperatures at Buffalo River through the months of summer are in the 90's; the overnight is a little cooler of course, frequently in the 60's.
