Arkansas whitewater, Illinois River Washington county, Prairie Grove to Robinson Road section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS I-II     14.5 miles   We frequently float from the Orr Bridge located in Hogeye to the twin bridges at Goose Creek when the water is high enough. Word of caution. All land is privately owned. Some land owners do not take kindly to paddlers in this stretch of river. Also, We float from the Twin Bridges to Siloam. This is about an 8 hour float. The trip from Robinson Road to the Oklahoma HWY 59 bridge is a nice float as well. There is an outfitter located on Arkansas     hwy 59 who will rent/shuttle you as well! Says Chad The Prairie Grove to Robinson Road stretch of Illinois River in Arkansas is 14.5 miles long and is a class I-II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The nature scenery of Arkansas and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling spots. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because   these hotels fill up quick. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. If you're coming from Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The average Arkansas whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more.
