  This section of Jack Creek in Arkansas is 3 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III+ section. The nature scenery of Arkansas and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Arkansas is often easier than elsewhere, so don't forget that many of the sections in this state are safe for beginners. Whitewater paddling here in the Ouachita Mountains
    is a great experience. The campgrounds here at Jack Creek are pretty good. This section is quite short so better bring some good walking shoes. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from
far and near. The starting location is a short drive from Russellville, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of places for that. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better  
reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.

There are plenty of people from Magazine here at Jack Creek. For the duration of the summertime at Jack Creek temperatures are mostly in the 90's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 60's. Through the wintertime the highs are generally in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Jack Creek are in the 20's. Jack Creek commonly gets lots of rain. The month of May is the wettest with most of the rain while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
