If you're coming from Hope it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up     quick. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. The campgrounds here at Little Missouri River are pretty good. This section of Little Missouri River is 11.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II section of whitewater. The average Arkansas whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less demanding. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so why not pack your camping stuff too. The Ouachita Mountains scenery is wonderful.   There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. Briefly about the general area: The Gypsum Trail is a glorious hiking trail next to Little Missouri River, and Little Missouri River is next to Daisy State Park which is a charming place. But wait, there's more cool stuff to do in the Ouachita Mountains. You're sure to bump into some great folks from Langley here, and if the weather is good, you can go for a hike along the Gap Mountain Trail.
