If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a lot of the rivers in this state are suitable for beginners. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Whitewater paddling here in the Ouachita     Mountains is a great experience. The Narrows Dam to CR 222 stretch of Little Missouri River in Arkansas is 5.2 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II section. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Hope, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down   the page. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling places. Briefly about the general area: Going for a hike on the Gypsum Trail is always a great adventure, and Daisy State Park is a wonderful place any time of year. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Ouachita Mountains. Near Little Missouri River you come across the Kizzia Trail which is a good hiking trail. Crater of Diamonds State Park is a great site to stretch your legs a bit; you'll in all probability meet some folks from Murfreesboro here.
