The starting point is not too far from Fort Smith, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The wonderful Arkansas scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water make the trip here worthwhile. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Briefly about the general area: Lake Fort Smith State Park is worth
going to if you're at Mormon Creek, and if you're here you will meet lots of folks from close by Mountainburg. There's no way anybody can get bored here in the Boston Mountains. Fern Spring is a good local attraction, and
if you're here you can take a hike along the Shores Lake Water Rock Spur. The surroundings of this river have so much to offer. Summertime at Mormon Creek comes with high temperatures in the 90's.
