The starting point is not too far from Harrison, as you can see on the road map further down. The natural beauty of Newton/Boone/Carroll County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Compton to Carroll County Road 11 section is one of them. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby.
