The wonderful Arkansas scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers     here a bit more forgiving, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections in this state are safe for beginners. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. This stretch has has enough mileage, suitable for an afternoon trip. The wild scenery of the Ouachita Mountains is great. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. The Remmel Dam to I-30 at Malvern stretch of Ouachita River in Arkansas is 6 miles long and is a class I-II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Getting   a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. Briefly about the general area: A good place to take a look at near Ouachita River is Long Hollow; a journey to Hot Springs National Park is recommended. So many enjoyable things in the Ouachita Mountains, just unbelievable. Ouachita River is not far at all from Malvern, and visiting Lake Catherine State Park is a good thing to do. Coming to this river is always a good idea. For the period of the warm months at Ouachita River highs are commonly in the 90's, and during the night it cools down to the 70's.
