We did Hollis to Deberrie 11 mi in a canoe Sunday 3/15/09, gauge ht 3.5-4, rain 2 days ago. Beautiful scenery, little murky. A big rock Blockhead got us, dumped, not the only exciting place though. Says Slim
The natural beauty of Perry County and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Russellville, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Getting |
some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set.

campground. The beautiful Ouachita Mountains scenery is an added bonus. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in
this river system, there are a few others too.
Briefly about the general area: Spring Hollow is a wonderful site to spend some time at, and you'll meet a lot of people from Casa here. But wait, there's more entertaining
things to do in the Ouachita Mountains. South Fourche LaFave is a wet spot that gets lots of rainfall. May is the wettest month with most rain while January is frequently the driest month.
