The beautiful scenery of Arkansas and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The average Arkansas whitewater rafting     or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master than those in other states, so don't forget that rivers in this state are less demanding. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. If you're coming from Batesville it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the US 167 to Ark 58 section is one of them. The beautiful Boston Mountains scenery is an added bonus. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are not so many other good spots for that   around here. This section has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so pack your sleeping bag. The campgrounds here at Strawberry River are pretty good. Briefly about the general area: Don't leave Strawberry River without first paying a visit to Lofferty Springs; lots of people from Evening Shade come here. That right there is heaps of cool stuff already but it goes on, the Boston Mountains has it all. Blue Hole is around here and always good to go to. All the water falling down from the sky makes Strawberry River a wet place. The month with most of the rain is May; January meanwhile is the driest month.
