The wonderful Searcy County scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Sulphur Creek have people coming here. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so better not forget that a lot of the rivers in this state are suitable for beginners. Creek section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. There's camping available near Sulphur Creek.
Briefly about the general area: There's wonderful hiking along the Pedestal Rocks Trail, and
a tremendous site is Bearcat Hollow. You'll truly wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining things in the Boston Mountains. Don't leave Sulphur Creek without first going for a hike along the Hideout Trail.
Sulphur Creek is not far at all from Witts Springs. Sulphur Creek is a wet place that gets a good deal of rainfall. The wettest month of the year is commonly May, that's the one that rains the most, and January is the month with the least moisture.
