The beautiful scenery of California and the cool fresh water have people coming here. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. You can enjoy this section more if you take your time, so pack your camp stove. The starting point is not too far from Red Bluff, as you can see on the     road map further down. The beauty of the Southern Cascade Range is a great plus for this river. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in California are harder than the national norm, so you'd better keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
