This stretch of Bear Creek is 12 miles long and it is classified as a class IV section by American Whitewater. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. The
    put-in is not too far from Clearlake, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming
here. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are not so many other good places for that around here. The wonderful Lake County scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Bear Creek make the trip here worthwhile.

at Bear Creek you could always discover Eula Canyon. The yearly rainfall here at Bear Creek is about average. For the period of January this area sees the most rain, and July is the month with the least moisture. Through the months of summer, highs ordinarily are in the 90's at Bear Creek; during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 50's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Bear Creek.
