This stretch of Bear Creek is 12 miles long and it is classified as a class IV section by American Whitewater. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. The |
put-in is not too far from Clearlake, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming
| here. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are not so many other good places for that around here. The wonderful Lake County scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Bear Creek make the trip here worthwhile.
