The natural beauty of California and the sparkling of the sunlight     on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This is the only paddling section along Big Kimshew Creek. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The wild scenery of the Northern Sierra Nevada is great. The put-in is not too far from Chico, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll   find a large number of good places. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
