Whitewater rafting and kayaking in California is often more difficult than elsewhere, so better not forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The starting location is a short drive from Clearlake, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further     down the page. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so pack your camping stuff. The campgrounds here at Cache Creek are pretty good. The natural beauty of California and the water flowing gracefully down Cache Creek will make you feel great. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Briefly about the general area: Cache Creek is near Petrified Canyon   which is absolutely worth checking out. When you're here at Cache Creek it's always fun to go to Anderson Marsh State Park.
