California whitewater, Cache Creek

Yolo county, Bear Creek Confluence to Rumsey section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS III     9 miles
This section of Cache Creek in California is 9 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III section. The beautiful scenery of California and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Napa, as you can see on the road map further down. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. The average California whitewater rafting
or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. No matter if you're whitewater rafting
or kayaking this area has a pretty small number of paddling spots. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, it's good length for a morning trip. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too.

Briefly about the general area:

The month of January is the wettest with most of the rain while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Summertime brings highs in the 90's to Cache Creek while night lows are frequently in the 50's.
