The put-in location is a short drive from Redding, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. There arenít any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance
    then no problem but if you donít have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. The wonderful Trinity County scenery
and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The Bridge 8.5 miles upstream of Junction City to Junction City stretch of Canyon Creek in California is 8.5 miles long and is a class III-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll  
find a large number of good rivers. The river winds through the Klamath Mountains and you get great scenery. On this section you do get some distance, you can easily run it on an afternoon. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Bridge 8.5 miles upstream of Junction City to Junction City section is one of them.

Briefly about the general area:
During your trip to Canyon Creek you'll meet some folks from Junction City for sure; if you desire a little side trip, try Clear Gulch. So many cool things to do in the Klamath Mountains, not sufficient time.
