  The nature scenery of Fresno County and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The Dinkey Dome to Dinkey Campgrounds stretch of Dinkey Creek in Fresno County is 3.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class V section of whitewater. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end
    up sleeping in your car. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. This is a short paddling stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. The Dinkey Dome to Dinkey Campgrounds stretch is one of many
paddling stretches in this river system. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around here. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. The put-in location is a short drive from Visalia-Porterville, as you can see on the road map further down. When you're paddling down a Central Sierra Nevada river like this one you  
always get great scenery along the way too. The average California whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so better not forget that many runs in this state are not easy.

Briefly about the general area:
Good hiking is available along the Red Mountain Trail, and wonderful skiing awaits you at Sierra Summit. And that's not everything you can do here in the Central Sierra Nevada. People from Lakeshore love to come to Dinkey Creek; there's wonderful hiking along the Deep Creek Trail. This river is a great place to visit. Summer at Dinkey Creek arrives with high temperatures in the 70's with night lows in the 40's.
