The wonderful California scenery and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in California tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Briefly about the general area: Hiking is a popular thing to do around Dinkey Creek; Red Mountain Trail is a great local trail. Sierra
Summit has glorious slopes and a friendly staff, and the Deep Creek Trail offers hiking at its best. This is such a wonderful river. All through the warmest time of the year at Dinkey Creek highs are usually in the 70's,
and during the night it cools down to the 40's. Highs all through the winter are typically in the 40's, and night lows in the 20's for Dinkey Creek.
