Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in California tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of spots for that. There   are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. Briefly about the general area: Hiking is a popular thing to do around Dinkey Creek; Red Mountain Trail is a great local trail. Sierra Summit has glorious slopes and a friendly staff, and the Deep Creek Trail offers hiking at its best. This is such a wonderful river. All through the warmest time of the year at Dinkey Creek highs are usually in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. Highs all through the winter are typically in the 40's, and night lows in the 20's for Dinkey Creek.
