CLASS V     1.5 miles
  This stretch of Dinkey Creek is 1.5 miles long and it is classified as a class V section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in California is often more difficult than elsewhere, so keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. The scenic beauty of California and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time
    outdoors will make you glad you came. The wild scenery of the Central Sierra Nevada is great. There's camping available near Dinkey Creek. This is a pretty short section so better bring some good walking shoes. Some people
prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Visalia-Porterville, as you can see on the road map further down. This river system is full of great paddling  
stretches, the Old mine trail to National Forest Kings confluence stretch is just one of them.

Briefly about the general area:
Have a pleasant hiking adventure along the Bobs Flat Trail, and a short trip to Sycamore Springs is always worthwhile. And if that's not enough there's a lot more entertaining stuff to do in the Central Sierra Nevada. Hiking along the Deep Creek Trail is nice fun, and Indian Rock is an attention-grabbing place to stop by while at Dinkey Creek. Coming to this river is always a good idea. A common amount of precipitation falls here at Dinkey Creek.
