The natural beauty of California and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The Salt Creek to Hulls Creek stretch is one of many paddling stretches in this river system. This stretch of Eel River - North Fork in Trinity/ Mendocino County is 12 miles long and     is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV section. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Whitewater paddling here in the Coast Ranges is a great experience. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This section has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so why not pack your camping stuff too. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling places.   Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in California are harder than the national norm, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. Briefly about the general area: The Ben Duncan Mailbox Trail offers hiking at its best; why not take a refreshing hike along the Ben Arthur Trail. All the outdoors exciting things in the Coast Ranges will keep you coming back repeatedly.
