Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Since you're on this site you are probably     into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that around here. There are so many stretches to paddle in this river system, the Sloat to Nelson Point stretch is just one of many. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The Sloat to Nelson Point stretch of Feather River - Middle Fork in California is 6.5 miles long and has been rated as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. Whitewater paddling here in the Northern Sierra Nevada is a great experience. This is a pretty decent length section,   suitable for an afternoon trip. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in California is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many runs in this state are not easy. Briefly about the general area: Places like Plumas-Eureka State Park are perfect to have a look at; there is a splendid hiking trail close by called the Eureka Lake Trail. If you like the outdoors you'll like it here in the Northern Sierra Nevada.
