  This stretch of Feather River - Middle Fork in California is 6.5 miles long and it is classified as a class V+ section by American Whitewater. The put-in location is a short drive from Chico, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The beautiful scenery of California and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop
    paddle, good for a one day paddling trip. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside California you might find the rivers here
a bit more challenging, so don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. The campgrounds here at Feather River - Middle Fork are pretty good. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short  
distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The beautiful Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is an added bonus.

A tour to Plumas National Forest invigorates the spirit; if you're here why not stop at American Bar. This river is so wonderful. During your trip to Feather River - Middle Fork you'll meet some folks from Berry Creek for sure. California Nutmeg Spring is an inspiring site to explore during your stay.
