  The put-in is not too far from Chico, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. This stretch of Feather River - North Fork is 8 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III-V section of whitewater. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. The natural beauty of Plumas County and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here
    and paddle. This stretch has has enough mileage, you can easily run it on an afternoon. This river system is full of great paddling sections, the Rock Creek Dam to Rock Creek Powerhouse section is just one of them. The rivers
for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. The river winds through the Northern Sierra Nevada and  
you get great scenery. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.

Briefly about the general area:
Plumas National Forest is a delightful location to go if you're at Feather River - North Fork, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Feather River - North Fork; Yellow Creek Trail is a tremendous local trail. There's no way somebody can get bored here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. All the water falling down from the sky makes Feather River - North Fork a wet place.
