Anyone know if any of the fires have burned around where hayfork creek crosses hwy 36? eme @ bustertheclown@gmail.com (really) Says Buster
The beautiful scenery of California and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream beats anything. The Gemmil Gulch Picnic Ground to Carr Creek section of Hayfork Creek in Trinity County is 12.7 miles long and has been rated as a class III-V section by American Whitewater. The put-in |
location is a reasonable drive from Eureka-Arcata-Fortuna, as you can see on the road map further down. The river winds through the Klamath Mountains and you get great scenery. This section has enough mileage for an overnight
| trip, so why not pack your camp stove too. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The Gemmil | |
|
Gulch Picnic Ground to Carr Creek stretch is one of many paddling stretches in this river system. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. Getting your paddling
muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more.
Briefly about the general area: You're sure to run into some wonderful folks from Hayfork here, and don't leave
Hayfork Creek without first going for a hike along the Divide Trail. And that's not all the things you can do here in the Klamath Mountains.
