  The beautiful scenery of Tulare County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. If you're coming from Visalia-Porterville it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The Dinley Bridge to North Fork Bridge stretch of Kaweah River in Tulare County is 3 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater
    as a class III-V section. The beauty of the Southern Sierra Nevada is a great plus for this river. This is a pretty short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. Whitewater rafting
and kayaking in California is often tougher than elsewhere, so keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This is not the only paddling stretch in this river system, there are others too. There's camping available  
near Kaweah River. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good places.

Briefly about the general area:
Kaweah River is not far at all from Three Rivers, and Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Park is a nice location nearby. Now, you may imagine that's plenty but there's even more enjoyable things to do here in the Southern Sierra Nevada. Summertime brings highs in the 90's to Kaweah River. During the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 60's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 50's; overnight lows at Kaweah River through the winter frequently sink into the 30's.
