  The put-in is not too far from Visalia-Porterville, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. This stretch of Kaweah River - North Fork is 8 miles long and it is classified as a class V+ section by American Whitewater. The wonderful California scenery and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This stretch has
    has enough mileage, you can easily run it on an afternoon. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in California tend to be more challenging than the national average, so better not forget that a lot of the rivers here are
not suitable for beginners. The Southern Sierra Nevada scenery is wonderful. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find  
lots of paddling spots. The Tarbell Pocket to Yucca Creek section is one of many paddling sections in this river system.

Briefly about the general area:
During your visit to Kaweah River - North Fork you'll meet some people from Sequoia National Park for sure; close by you hit upon great locations like Live Oak Gulch. Having a great time in the Southern Sierra Nevada is uncomplicated. During your stay at Kaweah River - North Fork do stop by close by Sandy Cove Beach, and if you have time, Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Park is a national park worth going to. If you come to this river you will have a good time for sure.
