The Middle South Fork confluence to Garnet Dike Campground section of Kings River in California is 10 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class V section of whitewater. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. The beautiful
    Central Sierra Nevada scenery is an added bonus. The campgrounds here at Kings River are pretty good. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all
set. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in California tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. The wonderful Fresno County scenery and the playfulness  
of the water have people coming here. There are so many sections to paddle in this river system, the Middle South Fork confluence to Garnet Dike Campground section is just one of many.

Briefly about the general area:
The trees of Cabin Creek Grove are a magnificent source of shade on hot summer days. Time spent at Sandy Cove Beach right next door to Kings River is always tremendous It's always tremendous to stop at Garlic Falls. A river like this is too good to miss. All through the summer months here at Kings River, high temperatures mostly reach the 90's; the overnight is a bit colder of course, regularly in the 60's.
