The put-in is not too far from Visalia-Porterville, as you can see on the road map further down. The Kings River Powerhouse to Big Creek Cove section of Kings River is 7 miles long and is a class II(III) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in California is often more difficult than elsewhere, so don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. The beautiful scenery of Fresno |

Briefly about the general area: Near Kings River you hit upon Lone Pine Canyon which is a tremendous site to stop
by; there is a nice hiking trail close by called the Bobs Flat Trail. You'll beyond doubt wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting things in the Central Sierra Nevada. On a wonderful day at Kings River you
can take a hike along the Deep Creek Trail. Throughout the summer at Kings River temperatures are commonly in the 90's. Summer overnight lows sink down to the 60's.
