  If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside California you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so better not forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. The starting location is a short drive from Visalia-Porterville, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The nature scenery of Fresno County and the playfulness of the water beats anything. This stretch is long enough
    for an overnight trip if you take your time, so pack your camping stuff. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. Whitewater paddling here in the Central
Sierra Nevada is a great experience. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. There are so many stretches to paddle in this river system, the Dusy Branch to South Fork confluence stretch is just one of many. This section of Kings River - Middle Fork in Fresno County is 29 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class V+ section. The  
nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby.

Briefly about the general area:
There are nice places to explore along the Don Cecil Trail; Lost Canyon is another delightful location to take a look at nearby. This location, the Central Sierra Nevada, has so much outdoors amusing things. Don't leave Kings River - Middle Fork without first going for a hike along the Sheep Creek Trail. During the days of summer highs here at Kings River - Middle Fork reach the 70's.
