The natural beauty of Siskiyou County and the playfulness of the water beats anything. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in California is often tougher than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. A good workout and just hanging out with
mother nature are great reasons to come. The Sarah Totten Campground to Happy Camp section of Klamath River is 36 miles long and has been rated as a class III section by American Whitewater. For all you camping people there
are campgrounds nearby. This river system is full of great paddling sections, the Sarah Totten Campground to Happy Camp section is just one of them. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. The Klamath Mountains
scenery is wonderful. Now this is a pretty long section, so it looks like you will be camping out.

Briefly about the general area:
If the weather is pleasant here at Klamath River, you can go for a hike along the Horse Camp Trail. Don't leave Klamath River without going to Klamath National Forest, and there are plenty of people from Seiad Valley here. This is such a great river. If you want to pop by some attention-grabbing stuff, pop by Limestone Bluffs. Going for a hike along the Boundary National Recreation Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity.
