  The average California whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so don't forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. The beautiful scenery of Siskiyou County and the water flowing gracefully down Klamath River will make you feel great. The starting point is not too far from Grants Pass, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The nearby
    hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This section of Klamath River in California is 18 miles long and is a class III+(IV) section of whitewater according
to American Whitewater. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. The Happy Camp to Coon Creek stretch is one of many paddling stretches in this river  
system. Whitewater paddling here in the Klamath Mountains is a great experience. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby.

If you crave a little side spree, try Wingate Bar; at Klamath River you always meet someone from Happy Camp. Yep, outdoors exciting things truly is plentiful here in the Klamath Mountains. On a tremendous day at Klamath River you can take a hike along the Clear Creek National Recreation Trail, and you need to have a look at Ferry Point since you're here. This river has it all. A spree to Klamath River wouldn’t be complete without a visit to nearby Klamath National Forest.
