The put-in location is a short drive from Grants Pass, as you can see on the road map further down. The nature scenery of Siskiyou County and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. The campgrounds here at Klamath River are pretty good. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so go ahead and pack your     camping stuff. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so better not forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that around here. When you're paddling down a Klamath Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. There are   plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. Briefly about the general area: Klamath River is not far at all from Somes Bar, and you might also want to pay a visit to Ti Bar if you're here at Klamath River. If you want a great time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Klamath Mountains. There is a tremendous hiking trail in the neighborhood of Klamath River called the Clear Creek National Recreation Trail. Throughout the warm months highs here at Klamath River get into the 90's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's.
