If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. The starting location is a short drive from Red Bluff, as you can see on the road map further     down. The scenic beauty of California and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. When you're paddling down a Northern Sierra Nevada river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Town of Mill Creek to First Diversion Dam section is one of them. A stretch this long is of course too much for a one day trip, so better bring your camping gear along. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. It's always tremendous to explore Round Mountain Spring; at Mill Creek you always meet someone from Paynes Creek. A river like this is too good to miss. Long Point is in the vicinity and always good to stop at, and on a fine day you can take a hike along the Graham Trail. From a rainfall point of view Mill Creek is a relatively common site.
