California whitewater, Mill Flat Creek Fresno county, Forest Service Road 12S0 to Kings River section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS IV-V     2 miles   The Forest Service Road 12S0 to Kings River stretch of Mill Flat Creek is 2 miles long and is a class IV-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The starting point is not too far from Visalia-Porterville, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The beautiful Central Sierra Nevada scenery is an added bonus. This is a pretty short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one     stretch. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in California are harder than the national norm, so better not forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling spots. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Forest Service Road 12S0 to Kings River section is one of them. The wonderful Fresno County   scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. Briefly about the general area: There is a glorious hiking trail near Mill Flat Creek called the Deep Creek Trail; a magnificent beach nearby is Sandy Cove Beach. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Central Sierra Nevada. Mill Flat Creek is not far at all from Dunlap, and close by you hit upon the Bobs Flat Trail which is a perfect hiking trail. This is such a fun river. The annual precipitation here at Mill Flat Creek is about average.
