This section of New River in Trinity County is 19.8 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III-V section of whitewater. The E Fork confluence to Trinity River section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. Briefly about the general area: You might want to pay a visit
to Dry Gulch since you're here at New River. The Horse Ridge National Scenic Trail offers hiking at its best, and you'll most likely meet some folks from Burnt Ranch here. Lots of fun awaits you along this river. For the
duration of the summer months at New River highs are usually in the 90's; the night is a bit cooler of course, typically in the 50's. Through the winter highs are mostly in the 50's, and night lows at New River during the wintertime mostly descend into the 30's.
