CLASS II-III 20 miles
|
| |
The nature scenery of Mendocino County and the cool fresh water have people coming here. This section of Noyo River is 20 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-III section. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. There aren’t any |
hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take
| your time, so why not pack your camping stuff too. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. The wild scenery of the Coast Ranges is great. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. The put-in is not too far from Ukiah, if you're not familiar with the area there's | |

a road map further down the page.
Briefly about the general area: A day at Laguna Point Beach next to Noyo River is time well spent, and while you're here, you might as well visit Low Gap. That right there is
heaps of fun things already but it goes on, the Coast Ranges has it all. MacKerricher State Park is a great site to have a look at, and beaches are wonderful and Ten Mile Beach is no exception. At this river you will always
have a good time. Places like Russian Gulch State Park are nice to have a look at; there are plenty of folks from Fort Bragg here. During the warmest time of the year at Noyo River temperatures are generally in the 60's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's.
