The scenic beauty of Lassen County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The put-in is not too far from Redding, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. This river system has a few good
| paddling stretches and the Nubieber to Pittville section is one of them. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so you'd better keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. Briefly about
the general area: You're sure to encounter some wonderful folks from Lookout here. Ahjumawi Lava Springs State Park is a great spot. Through the warmest time of the year at Pit River highs are frequently in the 80's,
and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Pit River are in the 20's.
