The Fish Rock Road to Mountain View Road stretch of Rancheria Creek in Mendocino County is 13 miles long and has been rated as a class II+(III) section by American Whitewater. The average California whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so don't forget that many runs     in this state are not easy. The Fish Rock Road to Mountain View Road section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. There's camping available near Rancheria Creek. The starting point is not too far from Ukiah, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The wild scenery of the Coast Ranges is great. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that around here. Great exercise and spending some quality   time in nature are great reasons to come. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so pack your sleeping bag. Briefly about the general area: A wonderful place like Hendy Woods State Park in the vicinity of Rancheria Creek is too splendid to leave out, and you can spend the day on the beach at Pebble Beach. You absolutely must like the Coast Ranges. A spree to Montgomery Woods State Park when you're here at Rancheria Creek is a delightful idea, and at Rancheria Creek you always meet someone from Boonville. Coming to this river is always a good idea. High temperatures at Rancheria Creek through the days of summer are in the 90's.
