current moves down the stream attract people from near and far.
Briefly about the general area: Hiking is a popular thing to do around Salmon River; Horse Ridge National Scenic Trail is a tremendous local trail.
What would a location like Salmon River be without out of the ordinary nearby characteristics like Grant Bluffs. There's good hiking along the Salmon Summit Recreation Trail, and Wilson Gulch is also a good place to look at.
