CLASS II-V     22 miles
The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in California are often more challenging than in other states, so keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. The scenic beauty of California and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The starting point is not too far from Medford, as you can see on the road map further down. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this
river system, there are a few others too. This stretch of Scott River in Siskiyou County is 22 miles long and has been rated as a class II-V section by American Whitewater. There are campgrounds quite near the river where
you can camp. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so why not pack your camping stuff too. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. The Klamath Mountains scenery is wonderful. Some people prefer
whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of rivers for that.
