The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in California are often tougher than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. The put-in is not too far from Crescent City North, as you can see on the road map further down. Briefly about the general
area: There's delightful hiking along the Elk Camp Ridge Trail; Six Rivers National Forest is worth going to. Yep, outdoors exciting things truly is abundant here in the Coast Ranges. The French Hill Trail offers hiking
at its best; if you want to go to some out of the ordinary stuff, go to Danger Point. This river is so perfect. Smith River - Middle Fork is not far at all from Gasquet.
