The natural beauty of California and the playfulness of the water have people coming here. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Ukiah, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in California     are often tougher than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. There's camping available near Tenmile Creek. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Gauge on Highway 101 to South Fork Eel section is one of them. Getting a good workout and spending some quality   time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. This stretch has has enough mileage, you can easily run it on an afternoon. The beautiful Coast Ranges scenery is an added bonus.
