The Gauge on Highway 101 to South Fork Eel stretch of Tenmile Creek is 6 miles long and is a class III-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The natural beauty of California and the playfulness of the water have people coming here. A day at Wages Creek Beach close to Tenmile Creek is time well spent, and as expected, everyone loves Standish-Hickey State Recreational Area.
