The Pigeon Point Campground to Cedar Flat section of Trinity River     is 23.6 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around here. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. There are so many stretches to paddle in this river system, the Pigeon Point Campground to Cedar Flat stretch is just one of many. The beauty of the   Klamath Mountains is a great plus for this river. There's camping available near Trinity River. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. Briefly about the general area: French Bar is a wonderful place to look at, and the cheerful people of Big Bar like to hang out nearby. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors entertaining stuff the Klamath Mountains has to offer. Summer at Trinity River comes with high temperatures in the 90's while night lows are generally in the 50's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 40's, and nighttime lows at Trinity River during the wintertime regularly dip into the 30's.
