The natural beauty of California and the water flowing gracefully down Trinity River - East Fork make the trip here worthwhile. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in California are harder than the national norm, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. For all you camping people     there are campgrounds nearby. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. If you're coming from Redding it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. This is a pretty decent   length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. Briefly about the general area: A tour to Shasta National Forest when you're here at Trinity River - East Fork is never a bad idea; don't leave Trinity River - East Fork without first going for a hike along the Echo Lake Trail. Lots of people from Trinity Center come to Trinity River - East Fork. Trinity River - East Fork is a location that is rather dried up typically. December is the month that gets the most rain while July is regularly the driest month. Throughout the summer months at Trinity River - East Fork temperatures are mostly in the 80's, and all through the night it cools down to the 40's.
