The average California whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. Man, is there a lot of entertaining stuff to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Don't leave Yuba River without first checking out Timbuctoo Bend, and this is a splendid location in the shadow of the Sand Hills. This river is so perfect.
