Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come     because it is a very popular destination. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. There are so many sections to paddle in this river system, the Route 49 to North Fork Yuba section is just one of many. The beautiful Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is an added bonus. This section of Yuba River - Middle Fork is 4.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV-V section. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this   general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. The natural beauty of Nevada/ Yuba County and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. Briefly about the general area: Going to Malakoff Diggins State Park right next door to Yuba River - Middle Fork is a glorious thing to do, and you are next to Klensendorf Point while you're here. So much entertaining stuff to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada, too tremendous to be true. If you fancy a little side tour, try Marys Ravine, and don't leave Yuba River - Middle Fork without first going for a hike along the South Yuba Trail.
